2023 Inductee Jim Zimmer

In recognition of his outstanding leadership and dedication to exceptional storytelling, Jim has made an immeasurable impact on the broadcasting industry and the Pacific Northwest.

Jim Zimmer is a media professional with over 40 years of experience in public television. He currently serves as executive producer and production manager at KSPS PBS, where he has contributed his expertise in videography, editing, directing, and producing to a wide range of programming styles and topics.

Jim's portfolio includes award-winning documentaries on subjects such as regional history, neo-Nazis, and volcanoes. Many of these documentaries have been broadcast on PBS stations across the country and received regional or national journalism awards.

He also directed public affairs and cultural programs at KSPS PBS, earning two regional Emmy awards. As a visual storyteller, Jim continues to embrace diverse subject matters, providing opportunities and challenges for growth in his craft. Throughout his career, he has been instrumental in developing and producing award-winning programs such as "Northwest Profiles," "Injustice at Home," and "Civics Bowl,"which showcased the unique stories and perspectives of the Pacific Northwest.
