2022 - Inductee Mark Peterson

For your unwavering commitment to the Inland Northwest through science, humor and service. Your hard work in front of the camera was just a glimpse of what you did behind the scenes. You succeeded in your goal to make the community better. You made us better, too.

Mark Peterson anchors Good Morning Northwest alongside Robyn Nance and Derek Deis each weekday morning.

He has been in broadcasting since 1982, beginning with radio, and then moving to television in 1987. Mark graduated from high school in Billings, Montana, and attended college at Montana State University in beautiful Bozeman. He started his career at KBOZ in Bozeman, then onto Billings and Northern California, and has traveled extensively throughout the U.S., both with work and for enjoyment.

Mark has served on many boards for various charities, spoken to groups of 10 to 10,000 people and helps the Spokane Lilac Association with its annual Armed Forces Torchlight Parade. He is currently on the board of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Spokane.

Mark is the face and founder of the 4 News Now Extreme Team. Since 2006, Mark and the team have completed nearly 100 projects. Those projects have ranged from a simple wheelchair ramp installation to a complete renovation of the Spokane Humane Society. Each year, Mark and the team renovate local baseball fields in need of a little "TLC." And every December, Mark and his "elf volunteers" create a beautiful light display right outside the windows of Sacred Heart Children's Hospital. It's all so the young patients can celebrate the holidays even though they're not home.

Mark farms in the summer on the family farm in Scobey, MT and can be seen emceeing and auctioneering throughout the Inland Northwest year-round.

Mark has three sons, Tillman, Matthew, and Joseph. He recently married the love of his life, Jana. He enjoys golf, fishing and traveling when time allows.
