Dave Davis serves as vice president of Television Production at Oregon Public Broadcasting(OPB). With more than 40 years of experience in film and television production, he is a longtime producer and executive producer of documentary specials and series.

Davis joined OPB in1996, and in his role, he has led the production of original OPB TV series including“Oregon Field Guide,”“Oregon Art Beat,”and“Oregon Experience”–some of the most-watched local programming in the public media system. He has also ushered in an impressive number of national programs and series through the PBS system with OPB as a presenting station, including the Rick Steves’ travel series.

During his career at OPB, and previously as a producer for KCTS in Seattle, Davis producer or executive produced a variety of popular PBS programs including “History Detectives,” “Time Team America,”“Hacking Your Mind,”“The Unquiet Death Of Eli Creekmore,” “Death And The Mistress Of Delay,”“Diagnosis: AIDS,” “Reunion,” “The Bay Of Pigs,” “Electric Money,” “The Sixties: The Years That Shaped A Generation”and“The Meth Epidemic” (forPBSFrontline.)

Davis is a three-time national Emmy Award winner (with ten nominations), a four-time regional Emmy winner, and has received the George Foster Peabody Award, the Robert F. Kennedy Award, and the Ohio State Award. Davis has mentored dozens of independent filmmakers across the U.S and abroad, providing editorial guidance and advice about the culture of public television and helping them navigate the journey.
