The NATAS Northwest Foundation
Scholarship Program
Since 1985, NATAS Northwest has awarded more than 100 scholarships totaling over $200,000 to aspiring television professionals studying at universities in Washington, Idaho, Oregon, Montana, and Alaska.
In 2022, NATAS awarded $15,000 to three deserving college students within our five-state region. Each recipient also is granted a year-long mentorship with a broadcast professional in their field of choice. NATAS Northwest is proud to have awarded 96 scholarships worth $159,600 since our scholarship program was established in 1985.

NATAS GENERAL SCHOLARSHIP 2023
Cory Kwan
College of Western Idaho
Cory Kwan is majoring in Media Arts at the College of Western Idaho. He currently works as Digital Content Producer at KIVI Idaho News 6. Cory’s experience of growing up in Japan as an American instilled in him an international outlook. He wants to tell the stories of other cultures and their people. Cory’s interests are drawing, playing guitar, and everything pertaining to food.
TRICIA MOEN SCHOLARSHIP 2023
Mackenzie Davidson
University of Idaho
Mackenzie Davidson is a rising sophomore at the University of Idaho, currently double majoring in Conservation Biology and Film & Television Studies. Mackenzie plans to use her experiences in both her majors to create documentaries that inspire society to think deeply about our connections to each other and nature. Mackenzie has worked for media organizations like Danger TV as an intern, Two Birds as the Director of Video Production, and The Argonaut as the Opinion Editor. Mackenzie won the regional Society of Professional Journalists Mark of Excellence award for her environmental column in the Argonaut, and will be competing at the national competition. Mackenzie will also be participating in the Semester in the Wild program at UI, and will be creating a documentary about her experience. After graduation, Mackenzie plans on continuing her education and further connecting her passion for journalism and the environment.
