I hope everyone had a great time EMMY® night! It was an amazing evening recognizing extraordinary work. Your work. I wanted to congratulate all the nominees and recipients. And I wanted to thank a fantastic crew, led by director Steve Wilson and producer Chris Cashman. And then there's our host, Pat Cashman! Incredible. Again. I'm pretty sure Pat was born to host the Northwest Emmys. We've been so lucky to have Pat as our host over the years. And then there's the Silver Circle. With the induction of Greg Palmer and Tracy Barry there's no doubt about the level of talent in Northwest broadcasting. You can see it for yourselves. I hope by now everyone's taken a look at the new NATAS Northwest Web site, natasnw.org. For the first time in our chapter's history, we are now providing all winning segments (I'm not supposed to use the word "winner") in their entirety online — not just the 30-second clips we saw EMMY® night, but every second of that 60- minute documentary or that 5- minute investigative report. It is an honor to be working in this market, and it has been my honor to lead the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Northwest. I have one more year as president. My goodness — the three years have flown by. Drop us a line if you have thoughts about how we might improve the EMMY® show. We'd love to hear from you. I hope everyone has a great summer, and make sure you enjoy the Seattle sunshine before it disappears on us. See you soon, I hope. John Sharify President NATAS Northwest |
