Aaron BrownAaron Brown’s television news career began 32 years ago, listening to scanners and ripping wire copy as a night assignments editor at KING. He became a reporter in 1978, covering everything from people to politics. In the early 80s Aaron began a new role, one he is still known for today: anchor. From weekends to mornings to co-anchoring with Jean Enersen, Aaron’s style and wry sense of humor connected with viewers.

After 10 years at KING, he took his anchoring skills to KIRO in 1986. For the next five years, Aaron covered stories like the 1988 Presidential Conventions, as well as the opening days of the Gulf War.

He left KIRO and Seattle in 1991 to join the staff of ABC News, where he became the founding anchor of “World News Now.” He went on to CNN in 2001 where he was anchor and managing editor of “NewsNight,” until November 2005.

Currently, Aaron teaches at Arizona State University as its first Walter Cronkite Professor of Journalism. He returns to the anchor chair this summer as the new host of Wide Angle, a weekly primetime international affairs series on PBS.
